New Home Trends – Flexible Design

At American Life Homes we pay close attention to what buyers’ really want in a new home and we have developed several floorplans that fit the way our customers live.

Each home buyer has different needs; first-time buyers with young families don’t necessarily have the same needs or wants as older “empty-nesters” and we work hard to make each home uniquely yours. These differing lifestyles call for different living spaces. Our portfolio of creatively designed new homes incorporate the latest trends in flexible home design. Some trends that we see include:

Updated Living Spaces

Separate living areas with formal dining rooms continue to be replaced by large, open family areas, featuring large granite-topped gourmet kitchen islands. These living areas are easily connected to extended outdoor living spaces; many of our new homes feature covered terraces with options for built-in grills and outdoor fireplaces.

Flex Space

Many of American Life new home designs include “flex space” rooms that can be used in a variety ways. Some home buyers opt to create special fitness rooms, craft rooms, or combination guestroom/office; one recent home buyer turned his flex space into a music room. What do you need room for?

More Functionality

Today’s media rooms tend to be less huge; more functional with built-in cabinetry or shelving. You can choose any feature to complete your perfect media or game room area. We also understand how important organization and storage throughout your home can be and each home plan features plenty of closet space and storage.

Convenience & Luxury

Who doesn’t want to escape from it all at the end of the day? Our spacious Master Suites are designed to be your own private retreat. Thoughtfully designed bathrooms with separate spa-like tubs and showers, stunning designer fixtures all combine to make your room a place to indulge and relax. Some floorplans feature innovative details like a built-in coffee bar, windowed seating areas in the bedroom and much more.

To some extent, we all understand the concept of flexible design. Haven’t we all become masterful at turning a spare bedroom into an “office” by replacing the bed with a desk and chairs and some book shelves? But true flexible design goes beyond that, designing a house from the beginning, fitting rooms together just so, configuring the use and the flow of each space. American Life Homes make each home to suit your unique lifestyle and need.
